Fash Farashahi has been with with town of Peterborough, NH since 2002, starting as an intern in the Office of Community Development. He is now the GIS/IT Director and oversees all GIS and Technology functions for all Town operations; including oversight of Peterborough’s PEG (Public, Education, and Government) TV Station. Fash works with Peterborough Town Administration & individual Departments on developing technology usage policies and assists staff with Social Media Use in today’s modern world. During this tenure, he has transformed GIS in Peterborough from “just maps” to an integral part of daily operations, particularly for the Office of Community Development, Assessing Dept, and the Dept of Public Works.
Fash is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Antioch University (Keene, NH) teaching GIS graduate courses for Environmental Studies students since 2004. He also serves as an UNH Cooperative Extension Geospatial Workshop Instructor since 2008. He received a B. A. in Geography (1998) from James Madison University and holds a M.S. in Environmental Studies – Resource Management and Administration (2003) from Antioch University New England.
