National Rivers Project

Summary:

The River Management Society describes itself as “the nation’s only network that connects those who work in and in support of rivers…[including] outfitters and guides, rangers, planners and landscape architects, environmental lawyers, fluvial geomorphologists, professors, students, researchers and authors.”  The National Rivers Project Explorer Map is an interactive interface that provides paddling and access information for 945 rivers across the United States.  Additional data layers available in the map include paddling difficulty, and fishing and camping information.  Click on a trail to view a description of the waterway and links to partner organizations.  The River Directory provides a listing of rivers by state or by Federal managing agency.
