The City of Tucson, Arizona developed this story map to outline proposed projects to improve City parks and pedestrian and bicycle connections. Funding for these projects was approved by voters as Proposition 407, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements. The story map divides projects into two categories: “Parks” (including playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) and “Connections” (including pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, pedestrian and bicycle safety).
Viewers can read about the proposed projects and view photographs and artists’ renderings. Viewers may also navigate within the interactive maps and click on project sites to access links to more specific information.
Residents of Tuscon interested in understanding how bond funds will be applied to improvements in their city over the next decade.
